April Brews Day 2016
As April begins to wrap up for the year, the time draws near for Bellingham’s annual April Brews Day presented by the Max Higbee Center. It’s no secret that Bellingham loves it’s microbreweries. And with so many new ones opening up every year along side all of our favorite breweries in town, it can be easy to over look some fantastic new brews. That’s why each year April Brews Day brings together the best brews from the Pacific Northwest as well as some popular local food vendors for a day of beer tasting paired with some delicious food truck treats.
April Brews Day will be held this Saturday, April 30th and marks the 15th anniversary of the April Brews Day celebration. This year’s event promises to be the largest celebration to date with a line-up of over 50 local and regional microbreweries this year as well as raffle prizes, local food vendors, and live music. A full list of this years brewers can be viewed here.
VIP Ticket holders will be allowed into the event an hour early, getting first crack at the wide selection of brews in store. Armed with your trusty tasting glass, some palate cleansing pretzels and a fistful of tasting tickets, it’s just you and all of the microbrew samples anyone could hope for. Inside the event, tasting tickets are your currency. Tickets can get you brew, food and non-alcoholic beverages as well. Inside the Depot Market Square building will be tables labeled “Purchase more tickets HERE!” These tables accept cash, checks and credit cards. There will also be roving ticket sellers out in the beer garden for your tasting convenience. Just look for the ladies walking around with rolls of tickets yelling, “More tickets for sale!” These gals will only accept cash or checks.
Tickets are available now or at the door with all proceeds going to benefit the Max Higbee Center, a local nonprofit providing community-based recreation programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Every single dollar you spend inside the event helps fund Max Higbee Center programs, so be sure to cheers a beer to the Max Higbee Center!
