Bellingham Summer Events
Hey Bellingham, did you know there are fun and free events happening right in your own backyard this summer?
Starting at 5:30pm every Wednesday, the 1300 block of Bay Street transforms into an outdoor venue to host Downtown Sounds. Each night includes performances by popular bands, with local food vendors and a beverage garden provided by Boundary Bay Brewery. Powered by Puget Sound Energy and supported by Levitt Pavilions, Downtown Sounds continues to grow in its 11th year, firmly cementing its place as Whatcom County’s biggest urban outdoor music festival.
For the movie lovers in town, be sure to check out Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema Presented by Ben Kinney & Keller Williams Realty. Weekly events feature outdoor entertainment and big screen movies in the park. 2015 is the 16th season of the Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema.  This summer’s events run on Saturday evenings until Aug. 29, 2015 at the Fairhaven Village Green on the corner of 10th St. and Mill Ave. You can find out what’s playing by following Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema on Facebook.
The 4th annual Make.Shift Block Party will be taking over the 300 block of Flora Street on Aug. 1st. Attractions will include a dunk tank filled with various Bellingham celebrities, the infamous slip’n slide, belly dancing with Jewels of the Blue Moon with Katy Houseman, root beer floats, local food trucks, a beer garden featuring beer by PBR as well as all of the local Bellingham breweries, a guitar shred-off competition, the skate zone and of course all-day live local music both outdoors and downstairs in the basement of Make.Shift.
