Fun with the Fuzz 5K on April 16 – Proceeds help families of fallen officers
It’s impossible to ignore the beautiful weather we’ve had lately in Whatcom County, and with the changing weather comes plenty of the great outdoor activities. It’s time to lace up those running shoes and get those legs pumping because Bellingham’s 7th annual Fun With The Fuzz 5K is just around the corner!
What is Fun With The Fuzz 5K?
- The Fun With the Fuzz 5K is a road race to support the Behind the Badge Foundation. 100% of the proceeds from this race go directly to the foundation which is responsible for taking care of the families of fallen officers as well as maintaining the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial located in Olympia. This race hopes to provide assistance as well as awareness for this great foundation.
When/where does the race take place?
- This year’s Fun With the Fuzz 5K is on Saturday, April 16th. Racers may pickup their pre-race packet with information about the 5K the day before or the morning of the race behind the Bellingham Police Department. The price of entry before the event is $20 and on the day of the event is $25 (includes a T-shirt for the first 1500 registered). The race will kick off at 9am with a cash prize for the 1st-3rd place finishers of the Men’s and Women’s divisions!
Behind the Badge Foundation
The Behind the Badge Foundation provides comprehensive support to Washington state’s law enforcement agencies, families and communities after an officer has died or suffered serious injury in the line of duty. Behind the Badge Foundation serves survivors of a line of duty death (spouses, children, parents, siblings, significant others, in-laws, affected co-workers and chaplains). Behind the Badge also serves law enforcement officers who continue to serve and protect our communities, and their families.
