Easter Basket Treat Guide
Aside from Halloween and Birthdays, Easter can be one of the biggest holidays for kids to consume sugary treats. Sugar and candy in moderation followed by good oral hygiene is all well and good. But sometimes we can forget the moderation. Here are a few fun Easter basket treat ideas that might help lighten the sugar load this year.
- Bunny-shaped graham crackers – These graham crackers are a festive and a high fiber addition to your Easter basket. These come in a variety of flavors like honey, chocolate chip, or cinnamon.
- Mixed Nuts – Nuts are chock full of both protein and flavor, and a nut mix provides a fun snack. You can buy prepackaged mixed nuts or create your own medleys wrapped in colorful goody bags. Please remember to be mindful of any allergies children might have.
- Fruit and Veggie Sticks – Chop up some carrots, celery, apples or pears into some delicious snack sticks. Pair them with some peanut butter or a tasty dip and enjoy your healthy snack.
- Legos – Not all treats need to be for eating! Fill your basket with lego’s in place of grass at the bottom. Fill plastic eggs with various lego parts and figures. A fun and creative way to keep kids busy for hours after all of that egg hunting.
- Egg Shaped Chalk – Another great idea for the creative youngster in your life. Easy to clean off the sidewalk and gets kids outdoors in the beautiful spring weather.
- Crayons and Crafts – Add other fun creative supplies to baskets with items to make a springtime crafts. Crayons, markers, paper, beads, glue sticks, glitter, etc.
