Punk Rock Prom this weekend to benefit DVSAS, Bellingham Girls Rock Camp & more
Bellingham wouldn’t be Bellingham without it’s incredibly creative and active music scene. A big part of that local creatively-inclined culture can often be found at the Make.Shift Art Space. For the last few years, Make.Shift has been a hot spot for many local musician and artists alike, sponsoring and hosting many extremely fun and different events around town on the regular. And this coming Saturday is no different.
On Saturday, November 21st Make.Shift is proud to bring you Punk Rock Prom! Buy your corsage and iron your tuxedo shirts because you’re formally invited to Make.Shift’s Punk Rock Prom on at the Majestic on North Forest Street in Bellingham. Whether you want to relive prom, never attended, or just need an excuse to dance, this community event is a great chance for people of all ages to celebrate.
The night of entertainment will kick off from 3pm – 5pm with Kid Karaoke with Zach Zinn followed by a line up of local bands, including Bellingham Girls Rock Camp Band The Ceiling, DJ Matt, Couch, The Cure cover band, Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, Prom King, and Girl Guts. All proceeds for the show will go to benefit Bellingham Girls Rock Camp, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County (DVSAS) and to support Make.Shift.
Other prom activities include a photo booth, punk hairstyles from Toni & Guy and live screen printing by Iron Street Printing. There also be a beer garden sponsored by Ninkasi Brewing, Aslan Brewery, and Kulshan Brewery. And local food vendors Simmering Tava and Cicchitti’s Pizza will be on-site for the event. (The beer garden will be 21+ with ID.)
