Why should we floss?
Everyone knows the answer to the flossing question. How often do you floss? We always hear, “Um… maybe once a day.” When in reality its probably the day before your dental cleaning. 🙂 But the main issue is who has time to floss? Or when you’re a passenger in the car. Or when you’re watching a YouTube video on your phone. Whatever the case maybe there are always opportunities to floss. Pregnancy is tricky when it comes to hormonal changes. One day you can be puking in the toilet the next you can be craving Dairy Queen Blizzards and tacos from Taco Bell. Why are night guards and mouth guards important?
Your mandible is a mobile piece of bone that is only attached on the left and right of your skull by a few ligaments and a temporal mandibular joint (TMJ). Throughout the day those ligaments and joints get over worked. We don’t realize how fragile the area is until trauma is introduced. Trauma most likely occurs in athletic events or car accidents. Either way a guard whether it is an athletic guard or a night guard is extremely important to preserve the integrity the ligaments and joints. If you are experiencing “popping”, “clicking”, or any changes in the TMJ please call, (360) 734-6190.

When do baby teeth come in?
The rule of thumb for baby teeth is the rule of four. Every four months baby teeth begin to grow in. When do the first teeth come in? At seven months then every four months after. Therefore, 7, 11, 15, 19, 23 months. Which teeth come in first? Those would be the central incisors (the middle ones). Then they start to fan out. Don’t be surprised when your baby skips a tooth at 15 months. Check the diagram so see what we are talking about. If you have additional questions just call: (360) 734-6190.
